Fatha' - 9/24/03

Kumba: Many consider you to be the best parkmaker of all time and you seem to enjoy that title. How do you feel you became the best?

Fatha': Well, many consider me the best but I don’t know if that title fits me. You see, if you are the best you have no flaws (Or you have the least amount of flaws out of all the parkmakers). My major flaw is my repetitiveness, and my lack of exceeding my work (theme wise) in TH. I feel that people like my style because generally it is hard to hate. That may sound arrogant, but my style emphasized beauty in RCT, and most of my sections contain scenery and flowers that make the area pretty to look at. I also feel I arrange colors well with themed coasters. My rides are also top notch I believe and that is easily my strongest suit in RCT. So I guess the combination could put me on people’s top lists.

Kumba: On your parkmaker's page at NE, it says your real name is Stefon Deajon. Do you like having a name that rhymes or does it bother you at times?

Fatha': Tell me about it. My full name is Stefon Armand Deajon, and I hate the name. I get made fun of all the time.

Kumba: Recently, in NE's Blaze Battle, you lost in the first round to Mortician, after making it very far in the first Blaze Battle. Do you feel the voting was correct and that you were beat fair and square?

Fatha': Bah, Blaze Battle. Mort’s RCT club obviously swung the votes (which later caused their votes to be not counted). So no, I was beat by a club, not Mortician.

Kumba: I know you are from Texas and during the NBA playoffs rooting for the Mavericks and the Spurs. How did you feel when the Spurs won the national championship? Was there a lot of partying in Texas?

Fatha': Oh believe me many parties happened in Texas. Problem was that I was in Spain when they won.

Kumba: Recently you posted a picture of yourself on Six Flags Magic Mountain's X and a few people seemed surprised that you are black. How did that make you feel?

Fatha': Well lots of people (peeps that I talked to) knew I was black already, but I guess it doesn’t surprise me at all. Most of the people playing RCT aren’t African-American (Myself, LAA, and I think Bokti/Kirii).

Kumba: The other day I downloaded your H2H2 Park that lost to PyroPenguin's El Dorado. IMO you got screwed over. Do you share this opinion?

Fatha': Yes, I think I got screwed over. In my mind El Dorado wasn’t on the same level as Maui (Yea it sounds arrogant but it’s my belief), and I think it lost because it was rct1 vs. rct2, which in that case rct2 seemed more popular. But I don’t care anymore; I think sometimes people like to see me lose.

Kumba: Have you had any luck finding your RCT2 disc and do you ever plan to play RCT2 again?

Fatha': No, I am done with RCT2. RCT1 is a far better game and takes less time.

Kumba: Busch Gardens San Simeon's release seemed to surprise many people. Did you ever consider asking someone to finish the park? And, if you didn't lose the desire to finish it, what else would we have seen in that park?

Fatha': Well If I would have finished it, you would have seen landscaping never seen before (It will be seen in Rct again though). I didn’t want anyone to finish it because it is my project, and my projects are mine and only mine.

Kumba: Even without seeing any screens, it sounds like Universal's Ports of Call will be the best park of all time. Is there anything more you can tell us about this park?

Fatha': The main thing that people tell me is this: “Fatha, you proved you can theme, stop being repetitive and show us something new.” Well, here you go. The theming is still the same old Fatha with a few exceptions (Whoovile and a Pirate area), but the rides set this park apart from any other. This one has the single best ride lineup ever (And you may think I am cocky when I say this, but it is damn true and I in fact DO believe it has the best rides ever made in Rct). New innovations will be seen in this park (Although Nate’s ToT was released first, mine is slightly different and has a more ominous feel due to music and setting). The three coasters in this park are also some of my best work, so the coaster junkies will be satisfied. Ports of Call will not be my best work due to my half-assing on the theming, but as far as rides, it will be the best work concerning rides.

Kumba: In your opinion, who would you say are the top ten parkmakers for RCT1 and also for RCT2?

Fatha': Well right now, RCT is owned by Natelox/Ed/Pyro. Mantis has been said to be the best, but I am not convinced as of yet. He has talent no doubt, but he has to show me a level of work I have never seen to be considered the best without releasing one park. RCT2 is much easier. Toon/Fooz/SAC own this game without a doubt. While people praise Toon and Fooz, I truly believe SAC is the best RCT2 parkmaker out there. He is just, brilliant and doesn’t rely as heavily on custom scenery as Toon and Fooz do.
