Kumba: Okay, first off, I know you are eighteen and from San Antonio. Can you tell us what you are like and a little bit about yourself?
SAC: Above all else, I am nineteen years old. Asking somebody to describe their own personality is somewhat of a paradox, but I will try my best. I have a free spirit, and equal respect for all living beings. I am not religious, but I do have religious beliefs, in that we are all created equal, from each blade of grass to the greatest of men. I guess that would be viewed as a Buddhist belief above anything else, and if you ask me, I would agree, but I am not a Buddhist. I like to enjoy myself, as anybody does. I like to put time aside to just chill and relax... smoke a little bud or what not, to escape the stresses of daily life. I believe that smoking pot is not harmful, nor dangerous, and not half as irresponsible as our criminal government will have you believe. The truth cannot be seen through closed eyes, and if you open your eyes and see what is really happening around you, you will understand where I am coming from. I wait tables at a restaurant here in San Antonio (and all over Texas) called "Wings N' More," which is pretty much an old T.G.I. Fridays which was renovated and converted into a sports bar. Its a nice atmosphere, and I really like working there, because I never have to miss the big games. The owners are Aggie Alumni, so everything has that Aggie stench about it... Umm, I don't know what else to say except that I like to party, spend time with my girlfriend, and watch football. Also, I enjoy to shoot pool. I am very good at pool and I will beat any of you if you ever come to my side of the state. Same thing goes for Madden '04, NCAA '04, and hackey sack. I strive for perfection in everything I do, I'm not saying that I am perfect in anything, but trying is the very least I can do, and the very best I can do.
Kumba: Recently, Iris picked you as the greatest parkmaker of all times. How did you feel about that?
SAC: I do not feel as though I deserved this recognition, especially when I was out of the community for so long. If you go back and look at my older parks, they were very simple and restricted. You could counter me with the argument that they were simple, but they started something bigger simply because of the ideas. This could be true, but if you ever looked at my ideas for inspiration, you should look at some of Joe Holland's work, Liquid Crash, LAA, Dan Mack, or even Greg Moore or Greg Reese. This is where I got my inspiration. I certainly wasn't the first person to start making realistic parks, nor was I the best, even in my time. I would never put myself at the top, no matter how arrogant I appear sometimes. There will always be Joe and Liquid, who were making parks for months before I showed up. If you think that I am the best parkmaker of all time, look at Deitan Park, and think again. Where is the creative genius and inspiration there? It sure isn't evident. It took me looking at a couple of the upcoming parks from the time to get my juices flowing, so I guess you could say that I stole everything I ever made from Joe Holland, or LC. But stealing isn't the proper term, because back then, we all were on the same team. Joe's IOA and Greg Reese's CP are the two parks that really got me started, those were my inspiration, and you will see influences from them in every park I've ever made, including my upcoming release, RoB. Now, I cannot argue with the opinion of Iris, but I do wonder how many people actually agree with him that I am the greatest parkmaker of all time. No one parkmaker is totally original, because our ideas fuel ideas for each other... I do remember being the first person to make windows, on stations in Silver Lake. I was not the first person to do the Asian wooden rollercoaster roof though. I was not the innovator, I was the one who took those ideas to the next level. Using coaster tracks for roofs started before me, but I used it still. If you want proof of my inspiration, track down Generations, and then look at the Aztec area in Crystal Horizons. Or look at Sandia Peak and then take a look at the OK Corral theater in Legends West. Enough said.
Kumba: In your opinion, who is the greatest parkmaker of all times?
SAC: Joe Holland, definitely. This man is dynamite. What a genius. For those of you who came after his departure, it's like being born 30 years after Jesus died. The elders still remember, and respect him, and the youth can only listen to the stories of his greatness, and think they are exaggerated. They are not exaggerated. If you have seen my parks, but you haven't seen his, then I think that is a great injustice, because Joe inspired at least half of my RCT1 work. It wouldn't be fair to say that you like my parks unless you've seen Joe's, because if you had, you would know that as much as you may like mine, you would love his. My parks were always made to try to match him or beat him, we competed with each other for several months, and it got really down and dirty sometimes... So, for all of you who have seen my parks but not his, you have not seen the whole picture. That's like looking at Yin without Yang.....
Kumba: Do you have any regrets about releasing Legends West on your own, instead of waiting on some sort of contest?
SAC: -No, this was my intention the entire time. After Danimation's failure to display competence, there was no plane on which to release such a park. What was I supposed to do, send it in to RCPro? ( I think I did..) Danimation wouldn't have me, and I didn't want to be there, so I figured I would release it independently, and if it was worth respect, it would get it. I believe I was right, because it is still known well among the community, yet, It wasn't a spotlight. It is still considered my greatest work, so I guess it makes no difference. I believe it was originally released on Wil Johannson's (sp, sorry Wil if you're reading this) Paramount Xtreme site... too bad I don't have a link to it, nor do I have his screename. But yes, he hosted the site for me and I really do appreciate it.
Kumba: How are things going with Rivers of Babylon? What can you tell us about this park, like what rides, coasters, and attractions it will have?
SAC: As of now, I haven't done too much since I posted the screens of the beginning of the Asian area several weeks ago. However, in the last week I have stepped up and I have been working for hours at at time. The Atlantis replacement area is coming along well, nearly finished actually. I have included a bonus screen that I had not intended upon releasing, but I guess I have to give something up. Most of you have seen the park when I decided not to finish it, and you might say it ruined the surprise. However, there have been sweeping renovations to the entrance area, and it is almost unrecognizable. I spent an equal amount of time changing things I had previously made, and making new things, so that the whole park has the same feel to it. Most of you know there will be 4 themed areas. These were originally supposed to be; Babylon; Tulum, Mexico (Mayan); Atlantis; and Avalon. When I decided to finish the park, I ditched the Atlantis theme because It was once my trademark, and now everybody has an Atlantis area, so I had to move on to something new. This is why I am sensitive to posting the screen I have included, but hey, if I post this screen here and people start copying it, don't forget where you saw it first! The Avalon theme was dropped in favor of my first real attempt at an Asian theme, instead of that cheap crap in Clockwork Dreams. I anticipate that the Atlantis replacement area will be completed before October 20, 2003. After that, I simply have to finish the Asian themed area, and do the massive scaled walkthrough attraction for the Atlantis replacement area. If anybody wants to help me with this walkthrough attraction, contact me at snowbound@satx.rr.com, because it's going to be a bitch and a half. There's 6 coasters in the park. The 8th Wonder, is the Drachen Fire clone (I can't drop all my trademarks, right?), then there's Kuxan Suum (Road to the Sky), Tecate (Mexican Beverage), and Kukulkan (Serpent God), in the Mayan area. In the Asian area I have recently completed an Arrow mine train reminiscent of Crystal Horizon's Grand Yukon Mine Train. Then there is Eversio Lemuria, which is a hulk wanna-be, except when It's finished, Hulk will be an Eversio wanna-be. This is the ride that is featured in the attached screenshot.
Kumba: Some people have said that you are the best RCT2 parkmaker. Do you agree and, if not, who do you think is?
SAC: I haven't had a whole lot of time to look at parks or screenshots lately, but I definitely think that no one person is the best at RCT 2. There are several of us at the top, and those who deserve recognition make themselves evident, such as TT, Foozy, LAA, and Joe Holland. Did I say..? nevermind... yes, there is a best RCT 2 parkmaker, and It is the one that you call Joe.
Kumba: What can we expect from you in the future? Can you tell us any of your plans for future projects?
SAC: There will be something after RoB, and I am working on two mini parks. Raven and I are doing a mini park themed to purgatory, that we will be calling "Inferno," and I am working on an Atlantis mini park to release with RoB as a bonus, but it remains to be seen if that will be finished. There will be something after RoB, and maybe it will be my first collabo? You know who you are guys, let's get it together. Peace be with you.
