Turtleman - 04/11/04
Kumba: First off, I know that you are a teenager from California, and, of course, enjoy RCT. I remember one very amusing instance, when it seemed your sister went on line when you had your back turned and invited all your friends to a chat. Did this really happen, and, if so, how did you deal with her afterwards?
Turtleman: No, it was all a joke. Awhile ago I was really bored and I felt like doing something exciting. I went into a chatroom with Gymkid Dude and sfgadv02 and many others. I started pretending that I was my sister (I have a sister but she lives in San Fran.) and everyone told me stuff like I was gay or I thought my sister was hotter than Halle Berry, or I look at porn and masturbate all the time etc. I couldn't control my laughter at that point so I eventually gave up and they found it was me. I still find it funny even today. Lol.
Kumba: One thing I noticed the other day while looking at your profile, was that you list math as one of your interests. I personally hate math with a passion and would like to know how you can find it interesting?
Turtleman: I never liked math. I hated it years ago. In 5th grade my teacher said to my parents that I was getting low grades on math tests and I should probably be brought down to the lower math level. Thank god my dad said no, because he helped me a lot with math and when I got into junior high I really started to see how interesting math can be. I suppose I get it from my dad, as he was really good at math. When I passed algebra I wanted to advance more so I took a geometry class at a local college. I was then put into algebra 2 for my freshman year. I took another class over the next summer because I still wasn't challenged enough, so I took trig over the summer, and now I am in calculus as a sophomore. I guess I like math because of the challenge and also because of the beauty of the language. It's an art to me, just like Rct.
Kumba: Now, you've posted a few pictures of yourself and people make fun of you for your weight, calling you "Turtleblob." Personally, I find this pretty immature, so I stay away from the name calling. Let's just get it right out in the open, how much do you weigh and how tall are you?
Turtleman: I don't think anyone uses that nickname anyone. Maybe it's because I matured a little more and I am not that annoying as before. Well I consider myself an average weight. I weigh about 210 and my height is about 5'8. I am a little chubby but I don't think I am a blob lol. I been going to the gym though, so eventually (hopefully) my weight will go down.
Kumba: I don't think many people can forget the Second Annual NE Awards, where you won Asshole of the Year. How did that make you feel?
Turtleman: I was very surprised when I won the asshole 2k3 award. Especially when iris jokingly said I was banned. Lol. I thought maybe stupid git or moonspoon would win it, but I guess I was really annoying back then. I don't really show off my award anymore as I don't want people thinking of me as a real asshole now.
Kumba: I don't remember this, but I've heard that you used to be in the RCT Ultimate Club and were kicked out. Is this true, and, if so, could you tell me a little about it?
Turtleman: I was one of the founders of RCTU. Gymkid Dude and I wanted to create a club with the most elite parkmakers. I gave the name for the club and I was also a co-captain. But I didn't do anything really. So I was "fired" and I left RCTU. Then they wanted me back when my Rct skills got better, but I was a real asshole at that time. So about half the members didn't want me in the club because of my attitude. It was really confusing. I was in RCTU but I really wasn't in. I got to work on a few projects but then I was kicked out again. Now for the third time I decided to join RCTU again. Hopefully I will be staying now. My attitude isn't as bad as it was back then.
Kumba: Currently, Iris has you ranked as the number # 2 non-parkmaker at NE. Do you feel worthy of this distinction, and, if not, who do you think would be a better candidate for this slot?
Turtleman: I really have improved over the years in Rct. I wasn't even on the list a few months ago and It really is an honor to be called the best non-parkmaker. I personally feel that it should determined whether you play rct2 or rct1. I feel that I deserve the spot but I also feel John deserves it to. If anything, I think we should both be at the top of the list.
Kumba: Back when RCT Station was going strong, you were a moderator there. What was that like and what was your most memorable experience?
Turtleman: Back in the ol' days, I remember always wanting to become a moderator. I finally got to be a moderator and I was really excited. I remember closing topics that shouldn't be closed and other things like that. Unfortunately, this was the start of my asshole days. One day at RCT Station I posted something which had all this cussing and bad language and I was banned. So yeah, I was banned as a moderator.. For months I wrote Red emails saying "sorry" and "please let me back" but it never happened. I guess you could say that was most memorable experience, even though it was a really bad experience.
Kumba: Now, I'm not too sure about this whole situation, but I heard that you dated one of the female members of RCT Station, or at least claimed to, but then something happened with a picture? What was all that about?
Turtleman: When I was a moderator at RCT Station I dated Swimfan online when we discovered "her" "picture". We basically talked online and told each other about problems and things like that. I even recorder my voice and "she" said I sounded hot. "She" then turned into a psycho ass bitch and said that "she" was going to kill "herself". So I basically told "her" to fuck off because "she" was getting annoying. Then we found out that "she" wasn't a "she", but in reality "she" was a he. So.. I was dating a guy and I didn't even know it.
Kumba: You were picked 10th overall for the upcoming season of Head 2 Head. What do you think of your team and who might you like to work with?
Turtleman: I think our team looks great. I really want to work with mantis. I think that would be a great combo of styles. There's also AK and Sunfork. We have a good line up of rct1 and rct2 players. I think we could win. I can't wait until it starts.
Kumba: Now, I know you have two parks going, can you give us a little update on your progress and maybe a few hints of what's to come?
Turtleman: Ah yes. Tropical Dreams Florida and Virus. Right now I am only working on TDF. The park is flying. The entrance is almost done and I just need to finish off Redskull Lagoon and Jericho. The next section is being worked on and all I can really say is well... It's really sandy. There is also one other big section that will be really whacked out. You'll see soon..
Kumba: Okay, you have been interviewed by Critic and now myself. In your opinion, who is the better interviewer?
Turtleman: Heh. Your trying to make someone feel bad huh? Well, I think both Critic and you have good questions and they are all different so you will learn even more about me. So honestly I think both of you are good interviewers. You both have a unique style of interviewing people. You are both New Element's interviewers and sooner or later we will all know more about everyone there.
